Tokoroa - Registered Nurse - Rheumatologyat Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waikato -
This role will work alongside rheumatology consultants, and other senior nursing staff supporting the delivery of patient care. The successful candidate will support the implemetation of local and national initiatives, and develop strong relationships within Health NZ, Te Whatu Ora, Waikato.The RN role will report to the Nurse Manager of Cancer and Chronic ConditionsThe team consists of four CNSs, a Nurse Coordinator and RN in Rheumatology Research, medical, allied health and administrative staff.The shifts are within the hours of Monday to Friday 0800 - 1630.Key responsibilities:The role will involve; coordinating and managing all aspects of infusion therapy for Rheumatoloy patients.
Infusions wil be administered in Lomas B1 - Chemotherapy Outpaitent Department.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; this role involves coordinating between different services to ensure optimum outcomes for treatment delivery for Rheumatology patients/whanau.Click here to view the position description. About the ServiceRheumatology is an intriguing multidisciplinary branch of medicine that deals with the investigation, diagnosis and management of patients with arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions.
This incorporates over 200 disorders affecting bones, muscles and soft tissues, including inflammatory arthritis and other systemic autoimmune disorders, vasculitis, soft tissue conditions, spinal pan and metabolic bone disease. A significant number of musculoskeletal conditions also affect other organ systems.
Most rheumatological conditions are of a chronic nature therefore our aim is to maximise patients independence, encourage them to exercis their choice over treatment options and regain/retain control over their lives.
