Procurement technician
Napier Port, located in Hawke's Bay, is New Zealand's fourth-largest port, providing a range of marine, handling, and logistical services. Our Assets & Infrastructure Team plays a vital role in maintaining operational excellence, and we're now looking to strengthen our internal supply chain with a hands-on, detail-oriented Procurement Technician.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in mechanical trades, parts coordination, or technical servicing who's ready to step into a procurement-focused position. You'll be supporting our technical teams by ensuring the right parts and equipment are available when needed, helping keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Reporting to: Technical Operations Manager and Procurement Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day procurement and goods receival
- Assist with the co-ordination of technical operations activities
- Ensure inventory availability to support maintenance and operational tasks
- Oversee vendor and service provider relationships
- Promote a collaborative “One Team” culture
- Support health and safety initiatives
- Use data and technology to monitor product usage and optimise inventory
- Contribute to a sustainable and ethical supply chain
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in parts management, mechanical servicing, or technical logistics
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with procurement processes or a willingness to learn
- Experience with compliance and governance is a bonus
