Support Worker - Lower Hutt - Full time
Full time - minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week

Key Tasks and responsibilities
Our Support Workers play a vital part in the daily lives of the people we support, helping them to be safe, healthy and connected to their community. Your responsibilities will include:
- Keeping wakeful watch over the security and safety of people and the home
- Assisting people with personal hygiene, grooming and dressing
- Supporting people with mobility, including safe transfers and use of mobility aids
- Preparing meals and snacks in line with individual dietary needs and preferences
- Performing household tasks including vacuuming, cleaning and laundry
- Accompanying people during daily activities, appointments and community outings
- Arranging and supporting social activities and recreational programmes
- Providing genuine companionship, friendship and emotional support
- Shopping for groceries and running errands as required
- Administering medications as prescribed and documenting accurately
- Recording observations and reporting any changes in health or wellbeing to the Team Leader
- Rostered shifts - you must be able to work daytime, evening, overnight/sleepovers, and weekend shifts
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in disability support, aged care, healthcare or a related field; OR
- An NZQF Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in Health and Wellbeing, Disability Support or a related discipline — which may be accepted in place of the work experience requirement.
Competitive Pay Rates– You will earn between $25- $29 per hour, depending on experience and qualification.
