Excavator operator

Position: EXCAVATOR OPERATOR
Job duties:
- Inspect equipment to ensure that it is functioning properly and performing as intended, ensuring it is set up and ready for use
- Operate excavation plant proficiently
- Utilise controls to excavate, drill, break, level, compact, move, load, and transport materials such as earth, rubble and rock
- Execute tasks related to roadwork, excavations, and material lifting
- Monitor equipment operations, adjusting controls as needed for optimal efficiency, and ensuring the safety of coworkers
- Operate equipment manually and through electronic or digital interfaces
- Follow verbal and written instructions meticulously to maintain high-quality work standards.
- Keep records of time spent working, materials used, and equipment maintenance issues to ensure compliance with regulations
- Report any issues or problems related to the equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of equipment, conducting minor adjustments and repairs as necessary
- Ensure workmanship and observe health and safety regulations
Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 3 hours, permanent full-time
Requirements for the job:
l You should have at least 3 years of work experience; Or, if no experience, you should have a relevant qualification at level 4 or above
l Be physically fit and healthy
l Full time availability, may work on the weekends
l No criminal record
l Candidates need to be NZ citizen/resident
