At EmployMe Solutions, we specialise in matching skilled tradespeople with New Zealand’s top employers. Right now, one of the country’s most respected precision engineering workshops is looking for a talentedCNC Machinistto join their growing team.

Located on Auckland’s beautiful shore — close to beaches, cafes, and the best pies you’ll find anywhere — you’ll be joining a close-knit team that’s all aboutquality craftsmanship, world-class products, and seriously good workshop banter.

With brand new machines arriving, cutting-edge projects on the go, and a strong future ahead, this is your chance to work in a clean, organised environment whereyour skills will be valued, your ideas heard, and your coffee order remembered.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experienced CNC Machinist who can set and operate lathes, mills, and mill/turns like a pro
  • Bonus points for experience with GibbsCAM or machine controls like Mazak and DMG — but if you don’t, we’ll show you the ropes
  • A solid understanding of CNC programming (even better if you’re fluent in "machine whispering")
  • Turning and/or Mill/Turn experience preferred, but variety is the name of the game here — we have 3-axis and 5-axis mills too
  • Someone who enjoys solving problems, collaborating with engineers, and gently educating apprentices (without eye rolls)
  • A safety-first mindset — because no one wants exciting "stories" involving first aid kits
  • A positive attitude, good humour, and a pride in top-notch, precision work

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Setting up, operating, and fine-tuning CNC machines to create precision parts that fit perfectly the first time (or at least after a coffee)
  • Programming and editing programs to optimise production
  • Working with an epic range of machines — Victor, Mazak, DMG, Takisawa, and Hartford (we don’t mess around)
  • Collaborating with design engineers to make life easier for everyone
  • Pitching in with apprentices, because we all started somewhere
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and highly organised workshop
  • Working flexible hours — early starts, late finishes, Saturday shifts — whatever suits your lifestyle
What's In It for You:
  • Competitive hourly rates + overtime pay (because weekends deserve extra love)
  • Weekly pay cycles — regular, reliable paydays
  • Access to the latest and greatest machines and tech (we’re serious about upgrades)
  • A clean, safe, modern workshop (no dodgy extension cords here)
  • Discounts on car parts and servicing (your project car thanks you in advance)
  • 1-week fully paid maternity/paternity leave supplement
  • KiwiSaver perks through Booster
  • Potential relocation assistance for the right candidate (yes, we help move legends)
  • A genuinely supportive and tight-knit team who want you to succeed
  • Auckland lifestyle: beaches, good food
