Experienced Builder - House Reinstatement
Prestige Building Removals Limited is looking for an experienced and motivated Builder to join our growing team.
This role focuses on the reinstatement and restoration of houses that have been relocated to new sites. You will play a key role in ensuring homes are structurally sound, compliant, and finished to a high standard following transportation.
This position will involve travel and staying away from home depending on project locations.
## About the Role
As a Builder, you will be responsible for restoring relocated homes to their original condition or improving them according to project specifications. The role includes foundation reinstatement, structural repairs, exterior and interior finishing, and reconnecting essential services.
You will work alongside a skilled team to deliver safe, high-quality house relocation projects throughout New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities- Reinstate and secure foundations on relocated homes
- Inspect, repair, and restore structural components including framing, walls, and beams
- Reattach and coordinate utilities including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Reinstall roofing, cladding, windows, doors, and exterior finishes
- Complete interior restoration including gib repairs, flooring, painting, trim work, and finishing
- Ensure all work complies with NZ building codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Work collaboratively with labourers, contractors, foremen, and other trades
- Identify and solve structural or reinstatement issues on-site
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
- Deliver high-quality workmanship across all projects
- LBP Licence
- Proven experience as a builder in residential construction, restoration, or relocation projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and structural restoration
- Ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings
- Understanding of NZ building codes and health & safety requirements
- Competent using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Full driver’s licence preferred
- Experience in house moving or building relocation
- Experience with structural strengthening and reinstatement work
- A hands-on, reliable, and hardworking attitude
- Flexibility to travel and stay away when required
