Position Overview:
As a Labourer at Taylor Fencing, you will play an essential role in assisting our fencing teams with various tasks on job sites. You will work alongside skilled tradespeople and contribute to the successful installation and maintenance of a variety of fence types.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, has a strong work ethic, and is keen to learn and grow in the fencing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the installation of various types of fencing, including timber, steel, and security fences.Prepare materials and tools required for fencing projects.
Assist with digging holes, setting posts, and ensuring the proper alignment and stability of fences.
Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently. Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring safety standards are met. Assist with the maintenance and repair of fencing equipment. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others on-site.
Support the fencing team with general site preparation and cleanup. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in manual labour or construction is preferred but not essential. Ability to work in a physically demanding role and handle heavy lifting. A strong commitment to safety and following health & safety protocols. Willingness to learn new skills and techniques related to fencing.Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and punctuality. A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence is desirable. A current Site Safe or equivalent health and safety certification is an advantage (or willingness to obtain).
