About the RoleThis is a fixed term role covering maternity leave at 0.9 FTE. This role would come with the expectation that you have an existing ICU background and that you will have the ability and knowledge to work independently in the unit within a short period of time.
About the team/service describes what skill set will be required and we would want to see those skills already present. You will need to be able to adapt easily and after the orientation you will be able working independently on the floor with HDU/ICU patient types.
About the Team/Service Location We are an eight bedded unit with a multi-cultural team who provide care to both adults and paediatric patients, with a specialty focus on head and neck/burns patients. It is a thriving and expanding unit which is in the process of delivering dialysis.
We provide excellent care to both intensive care and high dependency patients. It is a supportive environment that encourages openness, honesty and inclusiveness and with opportunities for educational development. This role is based at Lower Hutt Hospital.About youWe are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic registered nurse with an ability and passion to provide clinical expertise.You will have:Have a minimum of 4 -5 years critical care experience within the New Zealand care settingA current New Zealand APC and the right to work in New ZealandCurrent Advanced Life Support and Paediatric Life SupportA personal commitment to ongoing learning and developmentWorking at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
