Traffica Roading Services is a Civil Construction Company specialising in Land Development, General Civil Construction, Street Lighting, Traffic Signals and Utility Installation works.
Operating along beside the Civil and Traffic Signals Crews, multiple Temporary Traffic Management sites are required to be set up and packed down in alignment with NZGTTM and Approved Generic Traffic Management Plans.Whilst managing all aspects of Traffic Control, ensuring Health and Safety practices are carried out to enable projects and roadwork sites to be completed in provided timeframes.

With new the Frame work and Risk based methodologies, we need forward thinking people who can adapt to work in with the Civil Crews and that may mean being a TC , helping out with physical tasks, spotting, assisting Truck Driver etc .
In order to preform these tasks successfully, you must be physical fit and able, be agile and motivated.This is not a solely sit in the TMA role. This is an active role who are invested in their team and crews.
We require another 2x STMS’s to work predominantly NIGHT SHIFTS - Do not APPLY, if you are unable to commit to these shifts.
Position Requirements- Responsible for the safe and effective direction of traffic through a temporary worksite
- Oversees traffic control operations, ensuring traffic control measures are executed in accordance with site specific TMP’s and in alignment with NZGTTM
- Responsible for the establishment and setup of safe work areas for workers during roading upgrades
- Management of Traffic Control personnel and equipment on site;
- Troubleshoot issues or potential issues with Temporary Worksites during course of day and night shifts;
- Work with foreman/Project Managers to establish working plan for that day’s operations or future operations;
- Completion and submission of various reports, consisting of, but not limited to: Timesheets, Toolbox Meetings, Daily Checks and Hazard Assessments, Traffic Management Audits
- Documentation of site activities, inspection logs, incidents , 2 hour checklist
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task;
- Ensure safety of all employees;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised, but still be a Team player.
- Strong Organisation and Planning skills
- Clear and Confident communication to liaison with Project Managers/ Foremen for details of the projects/sites daily and as required.
- Be patient and polite, calmly and effectively communicating to the General Public, Clients and Auditors alike.
- Be Responsible for TMA Truck, Security, fuel usage, damage and reporting on maintenance and any incidents or accidents.
- Be resourceful and demonstrate innovative ways of undertaking work.
- STMS Cat A or /B Practising
- 3+ years’ experience in the Traffic Management industry working across Civil Construction
- Hold a current Class 2, Driver License
- 3+ years Solid Experienced in operating Level 1-3 TMA’s
- Preferable, 1st Aid, Construct Safe Passport
- Complete a Drug and Alcohol Test
- Available to work nightshift, Weekends and be on call.
- Be physically Fit, healthy and mobile, able to carry and lift signs, load and unload Trucks and manoeuvre signs and cones around sites
Role Expectation and Working Conditions
This position will be working across the greater Auckland City Area including: Roading and footpath upgrade Packages, Safety upgrades, speed tables, Subdivision access closures, New Installation and upgrades of intersections, Traffic Signals and managing Traffic around emergency callouts/faults and Pole downs and streetlight installations.
All of these closures can range from Level 1 to Level 2|3 Motorway closures. (Cat A-C)
Hours of work are schedule from Monday to Sunday and will be scheduled in advance of upcoming closures, some of these shifts will be night works and Traffic Management Teams will be rotated fairly and based on availability.The Hourly Rate ranges from $30.00 - $38.00 per hour, based on experience with 4 weeks Annual Leave (Accrual over a Year)
TMA’s are parked in a secure yard and maybe taken home on prior arrangement, if works are in proximity to the home address and parking is available and secure.
Training and Development
Refresher courses and Licenses are offered at the companies’ expense.Quarterly intakes are scheduled for 1st Aid and Construct Safe.
Monthly Toolbox Meetings are held with a Health and Safety focus – partnered with H&S representative
