Junior Purchasing Assistant - Christchurch

Do you want to be part of a busy, fast-paced, and leading food distribution company in New Zealand? We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent position in our Purchasing team based at our distribution centre in Islington, Christchurch.

We are seeking applications from dynamic and motivated individuals to join us as a Junior Purchasing Assistant.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with Excel spreadsheets to manage, track, and analyse data for trends and improvement opportunities
• Interpret graphs and statistics using Slimstock
• Navigate and utilise the Bidfood Real-Time System
• Develop and maintain extensive product knowledge
• Liaise with Sales Representatives, Warehouse Staff, and the Stock Controller
• Monitor stock levels and sales data
• Communicate and negotiate with suppliers
• Assist in handling complaints
• Participate in stocktakes
