About Us:
We are a growing startup specializing in IoT and smart home products for schools. As we scale our operations and client base, we're looking for a technical problem-solver who can bridge the gap between development and customer success.
The Role:
We're seeking a versatile Software Developer / Technical Evangelist to join our team part-time (~20 hours per week, with potential to increase). This is a unique hybrid role that combines hands-on development work with client-facing technical support and evangelism.
You'll be working across two key areas: building and maintaining internal systems that power our operations, and providing production support to our clients who use our IoT/smart home solutions. This isn't a traditional dev role – you'll be the technical expert who helps our clients succeed while also building tools that make our team more efficient.
What You'll Be Doing:
Development & Systems:- Develop and maintain internal low-code/no-code systems and automation tools
- Build integrations and workflows to streamline operations
- Create dashboards, reporting tools, and data visualization solutions
- Implement and optimize internal processes and systems
- Contribute to platform improvements and feature development
- Client Support & Evangelism:
- Provide technical production support to both our existing client base and onboarding new customers as we scale
- Troubleshoot IoT hardware and software issues
- Guide clients through technical implementations and integrations
- Create technical documentation, guides, and training materials
- Identify common issues and develop solutions or workarounds
- Educate clients on best practices and optimal product usage
What We're Looking For:
Essential:- Proven software development experience
- Comfortable working with low-code platforms and tools
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills
- Quick learner who can adapt to new technologies
- Experience with IoT hardware and/or software
- Knowledge of smart home systems and protocols
- API integration experience
- Experience with automation tools and platforms
- Understanding of network infrastructure and connectivity
- Experience with low-code platforms
- Programming knowledge (Python, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services
- Understanding of APIs and webhooks
- Database knowledge (SQL or NoSQL)
- Version control (Git)
- Operating system and deployment infrastructure knowledge (Linux, Docker)
What We Offer:
- Flexible working hours / hybrid working environmen (~20 hours per week, potential to grow)
- Variety – split between building tools and helping clients succeed
- Work with cutting-edge IoT and smart home technology
- Opportunity to shape processes and systems from the ground up
- Supportive team environment in a growing startup
