  • Charge of Central Specimen Registration: Counties Manukau Laboratory, Permanent full time.We have an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our senior team in leading and developing the Central Specimen Registration (CSR) service within CM Health.

All specimens for diagnostic testing are received, sorted, and handled by skilled professionals.

CSR is fundamental to the hospital services provided by medical science laboratories worldwide.
It is an essential area of the laboratory service and the start of all specimen testing.

It ensures patient safety is maintained by checking all samples are of adequate quality, including labelling and sample type, to send for analysis.As Charge of the Central Specimen Registration service, you will be responsible for managing not only the BAU activities within the service but also have a strong focus on continuous development and support for the workforce, looking at process improvements and innovation so our gold standard service to both our hospital and regional teams is maintained.

You will also contribute to the wider operational and strategic management of the total laboratory service here at Counties Manukau.
In addition, you will be actively involved in collaborative projects with other hospital services within Counties Manukau as well as the regional and national laboratory service networks.

A minimum of 3 years in a senior/supervisory role at the Section Head level or equivalent would be required.

Essentials include· Proven industry experience with management· Eligible to work in New Zealand
  • Registered member of the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand· Passion for team development· A fun and outgoing personality.
