About Us

We are a takeaway eatery offering a wide range of Chinese and Asian-style dishes alongside traditional New Zealand favourites. With a strong and loyal local customer base, we pride ourselves on delivering authentic flavours, efficient service, and consistent quality.

We are now seeking an experienced Cook to support our kitchen operations and help us maintain the high standards our customers know and expect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of Chinese and Asian-style dishes
  • Proficient use of a wok to stir-fry ingredients at high heat while maintaining authentic flavour and texture.
  • Ensure food is prepared according to recipes, portion control guidelines, and service standards.
  • Assist in planning and preparing daily prep lists and menu specials.
  • Maintain stock levels, monitor ingredient quality, and complete timely restocking.
  • Keep all cooking stations clean and organised, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Safely use, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment, including wok stations, fryers, and grills.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient kitchen workflow and timely service.
  • Provide excellent customer service support when required (taking orders or assisting at the counter during peak times).
Skills and Requirements
  • At least two years proven experience as a Cook in a busy Asian or Chinese takeaway/restaurant environment.
  • Strong skills in wok cooking, deep-frying, and fast-food preparation.
  • Good knowledge of Asian sauces, spices, and ingredients.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene practices, and safe work procedures.
  • Must be reliable, a team player, and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
