Teacher Aide (Fixed Term for Term 3 and 4, 2025)
Part time, fixed term. Up to 27.5 hours per week. Term time only (T3 and 4, 2025)
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher Aide, to join our whanau. You will play a vital part of a professional team, working with teachers in a classroom environment to support the learning of our students.
Excellent communication and relationship management skills are a must and will see you foster strong relationships with the students and their whanau. You will be reliable, well-organised, flexible and know your way around a computer. You will have a full driver’s licence and will undergo police vetting.
Provide support to students with high health needs, this may include supervision, helping with physical tasks and or respond appropriately in a health situation. This could include support to students who follow a toileting programme each day and supervision of showering and changing clothes.
A Tiaki allowance will be additional to this role.

Primary ObjectiveTo work collaboratively with teachers to support the learning of students so they can achieve at their optimal level.
Key Tasks/Criteria- Work with students to meet the academic, behavioural and social objectives as directed by the teacher to maximise student achievement
- Support student inclusion and student well-being in a range of areas
- Follow support programmes provided by teachers, Learning Support Coordinator, Leader of Learning for Learning Support, RTLB, or other professionals
- Be an appropriate role model for the students
- Provide appropriate and meaningful feedback and feed forward and scaffolding to students
- Work in a way that supports restorative practice (RP), Mana Potential and Positive Relationships for Learning (PR4L)
- Undertake the practices and principles of the Flaxmere Way for teaching
- Contribute to IEPs/ILPs/IBPs as appropriate
- Participate in annual appraisal, including goal setting, observation and feedback
- Undertake professional development as required.
- Supporting students with personal cares.
