Join our team at Te Whetu Tawera as a Social Worker.Be a key part of the recovery journey of our Tangata Whai Ora, using your skills and knowledge to improve health outcomes.Permanent, full-time position 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the roleWe are looking for an experienced Social Worker at Te Whetu Tawera (TWT) the 58-bed acute inpatient mental health unit at Auckland City Hospital.

We are located next to the beautiful Auckland City Domain, close to the scenic harbour and the City Centre, with access to public transport including bus and trains. We have worked hard to build a great culture in our team. This is a multi-disciplinary team, its fast paced and can be stressful, but with great variation and not a lot of downtime, the days are rewarding and full.
There is a full month orientation to start, and ongoing weekly supervision. If you would like a role in a challenging and supportive working environment, then this is the role for you. Flexibility, skilled communication and a thorough knowledge of community resources are key and desired.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrated understanding of contemporary recovery centred service delivery as well. About youWe welcome applications from experienced Social Workers who have completed a bachelors or masters degree in social work and have experience working in the Mental Health field.
You will be registered with the New Zealand Social Workers Registration Board. This position is not suitable for new graduates.We are a value based and inclusive organisation that is committed to deliver the best health outcomes for our total population.
