Tractor and Truck Drivers
Full-time and seasonal positions available to join our small family-run business for the upcoming 2026–2027 season.
Seasonal positions run from August through to April, with full-time opportunities available to start sooner for the right applicants.
Positions include:- Operating cultivation and drilling equipment
- Combine operating
- Baler operating
- Part-time truck driving (potential for full-time work for the right applicant)
Roger Smith Contracting is looking for experienced and motivated tractor drivers to join the team. The successful applicants will be self-managed, quality-focused individuals who thrive on building strong, long-term relationships with our agricultural clients.
Applicants must work well within a team environment and be willing to give anything a go.
Requirements:- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating the above machinery
- Good knowledge of the Canterbury area
- Honest, reliable, and self-motivated attitude
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to think on your feet
- High level of respect for machinery, including keeping gear clean, tidy, and road legal
- Full clean Class 1 licence held for more than 2 years
- Ability to undergo a pre-employment drug and alcohol test if required
A Class 5 licence and W, T, R endorsements would be an advantage.
