Our Community Facilitators (support workers) who work alongside our disabled partners are the cornerstone of our organisation. A Community Facilitator works alongside our disabled partners to enable good lives, drive normal life outcomes and to encourage our partners to achieve their dreams!
We are seeking a compassionate and flexible Permanent Reliever to provide cover in various residential homes. You will need to be able to adapt quickly to different care environments, working in various homes based on ConneXu’s rostering requirements.
This role offers guaranteed minimum hours with set days but requires flexibility to work varying start and finish times.
The role may include but is not limited to:
- Supporting our disabled partners to develop new hobbies, skills, and interests.
- Helping with household tasks, such as gardening, cleaning, and meal preparation
- Providing personal cares (toileting and showering)
- Encouraging our disabled partners to actively engage within our communities.
- Administering medication and providing support to and from appointments
- Maintain accurate records of the care provided, including daily notes and any incident reports.
- Being encouraging and supportive of life skills, such as budgeting and pursuing employment opportunities.
- Building and maintaining supportive, fun, exciting and healthy relationships with some truly amazing individuals!

A great Community Facilitator is innovative in providing support to our Disabled Partners and provides a positive influence in their lives. The ability to build genuine relationships and move forward with our disabled partners’ aspirations will be key to your success in this role.
What we are looking for in a person:
- Flexibility to work different start and finish times, with set days and minimum working hours guaranteed.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of the scheduled shifts.
- Passion, heart, pride and mana to your work
- A full New Zealand drivers licence
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with Disabled Partners, Team Members and Team Leaders.
