Performance Marketing Specialist - Trade Me Motors

Trade Me is one of New Zealand's most loved brands, and our Motors team is looking for a Performance Marketing Specialist to join us on a 12-month contract. This isn't just another marketing role; it's a unique opportunity to help shape our digital strategy for Trade Me Motors.

This is a brand-new position created to bring fresh energy and expertise to our team. We're looking for a creative and analytical thinker to take ownership of our paid search channels. You'll have the autonomy to manage campaigns and drive results, all while being supported by our in-house marketing coordinator and expert media agency partners.

**What you'll do:**

Your primary focus will be on executing a best-in-class paid search strategy for Trade Me Motors. You'll be empowered to:

  • Own the Strategy: Plan, execute, and optimise our paid search campaigns, working hands-on to drive session conversion and lift ROAS
  • Test & Innovate: Use daily real-time optimisation, A/B testing, and your hunger for new AI tech to find new and creative ways to grow our non-brand search exposure
  • Collaborate for Success: Work closely with our 40-strong central marketing team, including internal SEO specialists, and dedicated agency partners to deliver integrated campaigns
  • Build Relationships: Cultivate strong connections with our dedicated account representatives at Google, Meta, and TikTok to unlock new opportunities

**What you will bring to our team:**

While we have a wish list, the key is your ability to run a search account autonomously. We can teach you the rest!

Must-Haves:

  • Proven SEM Experience: 2-3 years in a hands-on PPC, SEM, or Performance Marketing role (either in-house or at an agency)
  • Google Ads Expertise: Strong, practical competency in Google Ads and/or SA360. You are confident in managing campaigns independently
  • Data-Driven Mindset: A sharp, analytical mind with the ability to dig into the data, uncover opportunities, and translate them into action
  • A Hunger to Learn: A genuine desire to experiment with new technologies (including AI) to stay ahead of the curve

Bonus Points (We can teach you this):

  • Experience running paid social campaigns (Meta, TikTok)
  • An interest in cars
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and tools (e.g., SEMRush, Google Search Console)
  • Knowledge of the broader Google Marketing Platform (GA, DV360, Campaign Manager)
