Lead the advisory and business reporting for the National Public Health Service Location: Auckland or Wellington12 month Fixed-Term, Full-Time opportunity Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleWe have the opportunity available to join our Business Services team as a Principal Advisor in the Governance and Reporting team, in a fixed-term, full-time role.The primary purpose of the role is to lead the advisory and business reporting for the National Public Health Service.
This includes writing and reviewing decision papers for senior leaders, providing advice on technical papers, development of business processes and guidance, and managing cross-organisational projects/work programmes.This is a 12-month fixed-term role.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.
We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.About youYou have excellent written and analytical skills combined with an ability to quickly assimilate technical information from multiple sources under time pressures.You are comfortable applying your knowledge and skills to deal effectively with complex and politically sensitive situations and topics. You have extensive experience supporting senior leaders and governance groups and experience in developing and implementing consistent group-wide processes, procedures, tools and templates.
A relevant graduate or post-graduate qualificationExtensive experience in an advisory roleAbility to analyse technical content to write high quality papersExtensive experience supporting senior leaders and governance groupsStrong written and oral communication, ability to write good papers for decision-makersExperience in developing and managing reporting processesStrong coordination skills and attention to detailProven experience in managing projects and programmesExperienced in developing business processes, frameworks and templatesHealth system experience is desirableWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
