Repair Technician / Customer Service

We are seeking a practical, customer-focused individual to join our team as a Repair Technician / Customer Service team member. This role combines hands-on power tool repairs with front-line customer service and workshop support. It is ideal for someone who is mechanically minded, organised, and enjoys helping customers find solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tool Repairs & Workshop Support
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on a wide range of power tools and equipment
  • Assess warranty and non-warranty repairs in line with supplier guidelines
  • Liaise with external repair agents or warranty service centres when required
  • Complete job cards, repair notes, and service documentation accurately
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
Customer Service
  • Provide friendly, professional service to walk-in, phone, and email customers
  • Receive tools for repair and clearly explain processes, costs, and expected timeframes
  • Communicate repair updates, approvals, and completion notifications to customers
  • Assist customers with basic product advice, troubleshooting, and usage guidance
Inwards Goods & Repairs Administration
  • Receive and check tools and parts related to repairs
  • Order spare parts as required and follow up on deliveries
  • Process repaired items and prepare them for customer collection
General Support
  • Assist with day-to-day store operations as needed
  • Support the wider team during busy periods
Skills & Experience
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience repairing tools, machinery, or similar equipment (preferred)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to diagnose problems and work methodically
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills (POS, job tracking, or inventory systems an advantage)
  • Electrical Appliance Servicing (EAS) ticket a bonus
  • Willingness to learn product ranges and supplier processes
Work Environment
  • Based in-store, working closely with a small, supportive team
  • Hands-on role combining workshop and customer-facing duties
  • Required to work every third Saturday
