Our Court Security Officers are a valued and important part of the Court Justice system. You will form part of a professional, supportive team where diversity and individuality are respected.Overview of role:Welcome and engage with a diverse range of people who enter our courts.Assess potential health, safety, and security risks and mitigate and respond to incidents as they occur.Interact with other agencies such as Police and Corrections to ensure smooth court operations.Patrol public areas, conduct building security checks, respond to duress alarm activations, and identify and respond appropriately to security incidents.This is a 40
-hour-a-week role with some paid overtime available when extra cover is required.You may also be required to work a minimum 4-hour shift on Saturdays.Learn more about our work in Court Security in this video.

We cover and are responsible for Levin DC, Dannevirke DC and Marton HC as part of our operations and Palmerston North is our main centre.
We form a large part of the Lower North region and there are opportunities to work at other courts during high-risk operations.We are part of National Security Operations and operate within the Court Security Act 1999.

Utu ā-tau/SalaryThe remuneration band for this role is $59,729 to $80,794- the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
