Duty Manager - Sfera Trattoria

This is a rare opportunity to help define Northcote Point’s newest dining destination from the ground up.

Sfera Trattoria & Pizzeria is an all-day Italian restaurant by award-winning chef Matt Ross (ex-Candela), located in a sunny, sea-breezed spot on Queen Street beside the Bridgeway Cinema. We serve refined, classic Italian dishes from seasonal plates to woodfired pizzas and handmade pasta, complemented by great wine, cool music, and genuine hospitality.

We’re looking for a full-time Duty Manager to join our opening team and help bring Sfera to life, we need someone who’s reliable, calm under pressure, and keen to create great experiences for every guest.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience in a similar role, or the drive to step up from a senior FOH position
• A natural leadership style - calm, confident, and positive
• An appreciation for great food, wine, and warm hospitality
• LCQ and/or Duty Manager’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• Familiarity with reservation systems (helpful but not essential)
• Barista training and/or wine knowledge (helpful but not essential)

• Lead and support the floor team through smooth, successful shifts
• Host guests with warmth and confidence
• Manage guest flow, reservations, and walk-ins
• Handle daily operational duties like cash ups, costed rosters, customer communication and the daily management of a front of house team.
• Work closely with the rest of the management team and owner to refine and elevate service
• Recruit, onboard and train new staff
