About the Role

As a Violence Intervention Program Social Worker, you will you will be responsible for managing, developing and maintaining the Health NZ Hawke's Bay Violence Intervention Programmes (VIP), Supporting healthcare professionals to identify family harm risk and respond accordingly, Developing and delivering training to health professionals in Hastings, Napier, Central Hawkes Bay and Wairoa, building networks to produce better outcomes for individuals and their whanau, hapu and Iwi, Developing equitable Family Harm programmes and organisational policies to support healthcare professionals, Auditing and reporting as required by Health New Zealand, Service Specifications and the Ministry of Health Supporting the Haumaru Whanau Team in the development of a coordinated response to social harms including child abuse/protection, family wellbeing and suicide prevention

Our team of Clinicians within The Haumaru Whanau Team works across Te Matua a Maui Hawkes Bay to support clinicians around Family Harm, Child Protection and Family Wellbeing. For more information on living and working in Hawke's Bay click here

About you

As a Social Worker you will bring the following to the team

Bachelor of Social Work Degree (or higher) recognised by New Zealand Social Work Registration Board.

New Zealand Registered Social Worker with current annual practising certificate (APC)
Minimum of 5 years clinical practice.
2 years clinical experience and advanced speciality knowledge relevant to role (family violence, child protection, suicide prevention and alcohol harm reduction)
Focus on delivering high quality care for the patient/client/whanau
Ability to contribute positively to the inter-professional /multidisciplinary team
Effective communication skills

Ability to build rapport and constructive and effective relationships
