About the role
We are searching for a passionate, empathetic, bubbly unqualified kaiako to join our team at our small, mixed-age centre. This position will involve caring and teaching for tamariki aged 6 months - 5 years, and we will be looking for a teacher who is passionate about place-based learning, exploring the community, sustainability and embracing both multiculturalism and biculturalism.
About us
Curious Minds Miramar is a small, mixed-age centre with children 6 months - 5 years, up to 28 tamariki in the ECE centre (5 under 2 year olds and 23 over 2 year olds) . Our learning priorities are; Manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga, maia and manawanui.

Our ideal candidate will be:
unqualified teacher, with experience in early childhoodconfident with speaking basic te reo and following tikanga practices
dedicated to providing child-led, free play focused learning.
adaptable, self-motivated and trustworthy
confident in building strong relationships with tamariki and whanau
clear communication skills, and work well collaborating in a team
likes being outdoors and exploring the community
open to sustainable practices
live in New Zealand

Hours of work
Permanent role, starting in August 2025, but can be flexible for the right candidate40 hours per week, five days Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.30am
- 6pm. The 3 shifts are 7:30am
- 4pm, 8:45am
- 5:15pm and 9:30am
- 6pm
