Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for a full-time Quantity Surveyor to join the company in Auckland.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on architectural and engineering drawings; develop and monitor project budgets; provide cost forecasts.
  • Tendering & Procurement: Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities (BOQ); liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations; evaluate tenders and recommend suitable contractors.
  • Contract Administration: Manage contracts and contractual claims; monitor and control costs; prepare progress payment claims, variations, and final accounts.
  • Project Financial Management: Track project expenditures; prepare financial reports; identify risks and propose cost-effective solutions; ensure compliance with project timelines and budgets.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to ensure clear understanding of cost implications; attend site meetings and provide cost-related advice.

  • Pay rate: $23.5 per hour
  • Days required: 5 days/week (must be available on Saturday or Sunday)
  • Hours per week: at least 30, maximum 55 hours/week
About You (Do not apply if you do not need any of the requirements below)
  • A relevant Master degree AND at least five years of relevant work experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and cost control methods.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
