Site Security Technician

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Site Technician to join our team supporting a high-security site in the Palmerston North region. This is a critical on-site role, reporting to the Central Region Manager, where you'll be responsible for the performance and maintenance of advanced electronic security systems across the facility.
Working within a sensitive and highly secure environment, you’ll respond to service requests, carry out preventative and reactive maintenance, and ensure the integrity and reliability of complex security infrastructure. This position is suited to someone who is technically capable, detail-focused, and confident working in a structured, high-stakes setting.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver hands-on support for electronic security systems and associated infrastructure.
- Respond to faults and service requests promptly and professionally.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance and urgent reactive servicing.
- Ensure all tasks meet compliance, safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate service records and technical documentation.
- Identify and address recurring issues to support long-term solutions.
- Escalate risks or unresolved issues to management when required.
- Liaise closely with the Client Desk to ensure timely reporting and job data entry.
- Build strong working relationships with on-site security management and other key personnel.
- Collaborate with other contractors on integrated services and shared responsibilities.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call support roster as required.
- Support continuous improvement across the site’s security service delivery model.
- Proven experience in servicing or maintaining electronic security and/or electrical systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently within a secure environment.
- Professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to high standards of service delivery.
- An Electrical Trade qualification (EST minimum or a relevant diploma/degree)
- Proven practical experience in any or all the following, Electrical / Security / commercial CCTV, including installation, maintenance and fault investigation.
- An understanding of ICT and network communications
- Current and valid New Zealand Driver Licence.
- NZ residency / valid NZ work visa.
- Must be eligible for, and willing to undergo, a security clearance process.
- Occasional travel may be required for training or support across other sites.
