Following an exciting phase of transition and growth, we’re seeking a talented and driven Senior Accountant & Business Manager to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our practice.
About the Role: This unique hybrid position combines hands-on client advisory responsibilities with strategic business leadership.
As a Senior Accountant, you will act as the primary advisor for a portfolio of valued clients, delivering a full range of compliance and business advisory services. You’ll play a key role in helping clients navigate financial challenges, optimize performance, and grow their businesses.
As Business Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the practice. This includes team leadership, workflow management, continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring exceptional service delivery across the firm.
Key Responsibilities: Senior Accountant
- Provide expert accounting, taxation, and advisory services to a diverse client base
- Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, GST returns, and cash flow forecasts
- Deliver budgeting and financial performance support for clients
- Implement and support cloud accounting solutions, especially Xero
- Build strong, consultative relationships with clients and contribute to their success
- Lead and manage the internal team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
- Oversee firm operations, including systems, workflow, and output quality
- Monitor business performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
- Support recruitment, staff development, and team planning initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership to refine strategy and drive sustainable growth
- CA qualification (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Chartered Accounting practice
- Proven experience managing or mentoring a team
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, technical, and organisational capabilities
- Experience with Xero and a passion for technology-driven solutions
