  • Ngapo Wehi.Hikitia describes a collection of mental health and additions services in the Waikato region across our three prisons: Waikeria, Tongariro and Springhill Corrections Facility.

Hikitia has been designed to address the over-representation of prisoners with mental health and addictions issues and is the first of its kind in New Zealand.

It will provide multi-treatment mental health and addictions services, within the prison environment.

Mō te tūnga | About the roleWe are in search of a dedicated and self-driven individual who can actively engage in various office administration tasks.The key duties of this position include ensuring the precise recording and upkeep of health information.

Additionally, the individual will be responsible for supporting the team in day-to-day administrative tasks, such as managing reception duties, internal and external schedules, appointments, travel bookings, and maintaining databases.This role offers both rewards and challenges in an environment that will push your skills while providing continuous support.Download our job description from the job application page to find out more about the role.

Mōu | About you You will possess a strong working knowledge of computerised systems and adept keyboard skills.
Your capacity to develop and enhance operational efficiencies will be a key asset, and familiarity with SAP will be highly valued.
Having knowledge of health/mental health systems and mental health terminology would be advantageous.
Practical experience in utilising health software, along with proficiency in Word and Excel, is a prerequisite.
You should be capable of showcasing professionalism, resilience, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with a high level of expertise in customer service.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience Proven administration experience including reception, minute‑taking, filing systems (electronic and hard copy), and managing office equipment and supplies.Strong digital capability, especially in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with SAP and familiarity with health/medical systems or terminology is an advantage.Effective coordination and scheduling skills, with experience managing appointments, bookings and liaising confidently with internal and external providers.Clear, professional communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build constructive relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.Organised, accurate and adaptable work style, with strong time‑management skills and a commitment to safe work practices, professionalism, and culturally responsive service.

Ngā painga | The benefitsThe of the salary range is $64,717
  • $68,434 per annum.
