Project Engineer – Civil Construction

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established civil contractor with a strong reputation for delivering quality infrastructure projects across the Waikato region.
Due to continued growth and a strong forward workload, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Engineer to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and driven engineer who enjoys being involved in the practical delivery side of projects and wants to work within a supportive, high-performing team environment.
About the Role
Working closely with Project Managers and site teams, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a variety of civil construction projects including:
- Earthworks
- Civil infrastructure
- Subdivisions
- Roading
- Drainage
- General civil construction projects
You will be responsible for supporting day-to-day project delivery, coordinating site activities, maintaining QA documentation, assisting with planning/programming, and ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being site-based and actively involved in project execution.
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience working as a Project Engineer within Civil construction.
- A relevant Civil Engineering qualification.
- Strong understanding of site-based project delivery.
- Previous experience working on New Zealand civil infrastructure projects.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A practical and proactive approach to problem solving.
- Motivation, energy, and a strong work ethic.
- Experience with drainage and 3 waters projects would be advantageous, however this is not the sole focus of the role.
