Event Facilitator (Part-time)

Are you passionate about events and providing exceptional customer service? Join our dynamic Events Team and be part of the action at Council venues across the Matamata-Piako district, including the new Open Country Community Stadium based at Matamata College.
No two days look the same! Whether it’s sports fixtures, corporate events, conferences or community celebrations, you’ll help ensure every event runs like clockwork. A key part of this role involves working closely with the community - engaging with local groups, supporting events and helping to ensure all council venues are a welcoming space for everyone.You’ll be part of a dedicated team, collaborating with colleagues to deliver excellent customer experiences and support at our council venues.
The hours of work will be a minimum of 20 hours per fortnight and will require a high degree of flexibility with hours determined by event and customer needs.
What you’ll be doing:- Supporting event administration, logistics and planning
- Preparing venues and physically setting up for events
- Conducting site inductions
- Health & safety support
- Delivering outstanding customer experiences
- Working collaboratively with the community and team
- Excellent customer service and a friendly, helpful attitude
- Confidence with computer based admin tasks
- Physical fitness with the ability to handle hands-on event tasks
- A full driver’s license
- Flexibility to work varying hours based on event schedules
