Dispatch Assistant

About the Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and dispatch of customer orders, ensuring order accuracy, meeting dispatch deadlines, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the timely and accurate outbound dispatch of customer orders.
- Verify physical goods against packing slips to ensure order accuracy before loading.
- Safely and accurately load customer orders onto delivery vehicles.
- Monitor stock levels and alert the purchasing team about low-stock items.
- Assist with stocking and restocking both new and existing products.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatch-related activities, inventory, and staff movements.
- Ensure all documents and reports are filed correctly and passed to the appropriate manager.
- Maintain a clean and compliant dispatch area, adhering to health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Accurately input data into dispatch systems and assist with audits and stock takes.
- Perform general warehouse duties, including stocktake assistance.
- Wrap pallets and assist with loading and dispatch.
- Ensure the dispatch area is neat and tidy at the end of each shift.
- Lift up to 20-25 kgs. as required.
We are looking for an individual with experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, particularly in dispatch or pick-packing roles. This is a physically demanding position that requires someone who is able to keep up with the pace of a fast-moving work environment.
You should be able to handle the physical demands of the role, work well under pressure, and maintain efficiency and accuracy.
Essential Attributes:
- Proven experience in dispatch, warehouse operations, or a similar role, preferably in transport or logistics.
- Knowledge and experience in inwards and dispatch, warehouse inventory, or logistics operations.
- Ability to handle physical work, including lifting and carrying heavy items, and using proper manual handling techniques.
- Ability to work in a temperature-controlled environment.
- Strong physical fitness to endure prolonged periods of standing, heavy lifting, and continuous movement.
- Knowledge of food quality and safety standards and regulations.
- Understanding of Health and Safety guidelines and the ability to follow processes and instructions.
- A self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attendance record in previous roles.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Forklift license (advantageous).
- Reliable transport to the workplace.
