Golden Bay Air – Pilot Opportunities

Golden Bay Air is a VFR/IFR Part 135 operation based in Takaka, offering scheduled air services between Takaka, Wellington, and Karamea, as well as charter and scenic flights. Our services are complemented by passenger shuttles to and from the Heaphy Track and Abel Tasman, day tours and rental cars

We are setting up for the next season and seeking two pilots to join our team:

• September 1, 2025 – June 30, 2027
• Minimum 650 total time, current NZ CPL, and MEIFR rating

• December 1, 2025 – May 31, 2026
• 500 total time, current NZ CPL

As a Golden Bay Air pilot, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating our aircraft on scheduled routes between Takaka, Wellington, Karamea, and Nelson, as well as scenic flights, charters, and maintenance ferry flights
• Supporting operations management, including maintenance control and safety management tasks
• Assisting with the daily operation of our air service
• Ground-based duties, such as driving passenger vans, collecting aviation fuel from Motueka, and assisting with customer service and operational improvements

Our ideal candidate will be:

• Great at communicating and connecting with the team and customers
• An excellent pilot with excellent skills and judgement in weather interpretation, navigation, safety, and emergency management
• Rated on Golden Bay Air' s aircraft (BN2, GA8, and PA28) — Golden Bay Air can also provide ratings if required
• Holder of P and D endorsements on your driver's license — these can be obtained upon selection.
