We're on the lookout for passionate individuals ready to dive into a hands-on, long-term career pathway at sea. Our Trainee Engineer Programme offers a unique opportunity to learn from experienced marine engineers while rotating across a variety of vessels and systems.
Whether you're starting fresh or looking to build on your existing experience or certification, this is your chance to get ahead in a high-demand industry.
What's involved?- A 3-year structured training pathway (similar to an apprenticeship)
- Rotational experience across multiple vessels and engineering teams
- A supportive learning environment to complete your MEC6 or MEC5 qualifications
- 2 trips on (6 weeks per trip) / 1 trip (6 weeks) off roster. Ability to work your way into a trip on / trip off rotation to enjoy the benefits of a good work life balance.

- Someone with a passion for engineering and an interest in building a long-term career at sea
- A hands-on learner with trade experience or qualifications in areas such as:
- General Engineering
- Machinery or Facilities Maintenance
- Hydraulics
- Electrical / Electronics
- Welding / Fabrication
- Auto Mechanics
- Diesel Engine
- Already holding a MEC6 or MEC5 and looking to gain practical onboard experience
- A person with some sea time, looking to progress to the next level
- A strong team player with a commitment to learning, safety, and professional development
Seagoing experience is preferred, but not essential.
What can you expect to earn?
As a trainee engineer, your pay will grow as you gain more experience and complete milestones in your training. Starting with an entry-level daily rate, you'll receive increases as you tick off key achievements — such as completing trips, progressing through your task book, gaining feedback from senior engineers, and passing your MEC6 and MEC5 exams.In short, the more you learn and grow, the more you'll earn — it's a clear pathway with great potential for progression.
