About the Role

We are looking for a rotational Occupational Therapist to work within our acute inpatient services at Whakatane Hospital. This is a permanent full-time position.

You will be working as part of an established interdisciplinary team covering an array of conditions, including orthopaedic, paediatrics, acute care unit, emergency department, neurological and general medical conditions who require assessment and rehabilitation and also often have complex social and discharge planning needs.

The acute services team work closely with the rehabilitation team for growth and development in this area.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The role is based in the Te Koru Rehabilitation department which houses the community, outpatient and acute services teams creating a great opportunity to work with a variety of professions, and services in our vibrant and supportive department.

About you

You will be:

  • New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist with an Annual Practicing Certificate or able to get one before the start date
  • Able to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Demonstrates success in clinical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with health professionals, health agencies, Tangata Whaiora/patients and whanau
