At Darfield Collision Centre, we take pride in our workmanship and customer service. Our team handles everything from cars and utes to motorbikes, trailers, horse floats, and the occasional custom project — so there’s always something new to tackle.

The Day-to-Day Will See You:

  • Delivering quality, professional repairs to industry and insurance specifications.
  • Dismantle and reassemble of vehicles.
  • Safely using repair tools and equipment (including MIG/spot welders, hammers, pulling systems, and air tools).
  • Straightening, reshaping, and replacing damaged panels.
  • Estimating repair costs, including assessing damage, identifying required parts and labour, and communicating clearly with management or customers.
  • Setting up and maintaining repair equipment and tools.
  • Conducting quality checks and rectifying defects as needed.
  • Keeping job documentation and the workshop management system up to date.
  • Working collaboratively with painters and other team members to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Attending toolbox meetings and following all safety procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised workspace (“clean as you go” approach).

What You’ll Bring:

  • A recognised Trade Qualification (Panel Beating/Automotive Body Repair) or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in automotive panel repair.
  • Experience in estimating or assessing vehicle repairs is highly valued.
  • Strong technical and metalworking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team.
  • Pride in your work and excellent attention to detail.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and good communication skills.
  • Willingness to train apprentices

Hours:

Full-time position (approx. 42.5 hours per week)

Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5pm
