Welder/Fitter
Description
Tasman PFV Ltd based in Auckland, is specialised in supplying all pipelines, fittings, and valves to New Zealand's finest Fire engineer companies. We are looking for one Welder/Fitter to join our team.
You will be expected to work at our workshop in Auckland region, a minimum of 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday as normal hours of work, and you may also be required to perform on Saturday as well. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $28-$35 based on candidates' experience and skills.
Job Description for This Position- Fit, assemble and weld metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other relevant equipment
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
- Set up components for welding according to specifications
- Operate various manual and automated welding equipment for welding work
- Weld small and large components by using relevant tools
- Assess welded surface, structures and components to identify errors
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
Key Requirements for Successful Applicants:
- Having 3-year experience in fabricating or welding operations.
- Relevant qualification or certificate is an advantage.
- Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role
- Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.
- A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress.
- Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
