You will be supported by an experienced team of senior medical officers (SMOs) and registrars, ensuring that you receive ample guidance and supervision.

This role offers excellent opportunities for learning and development, including the potential to gain an ACEM Certificate in Emergency Medicine.About the Team/ServiceOur Emergency Department is part of Tauranga Hospital, a Level 5 hospital offering acute services to the Bay of Plenty region.

The ED is a fast-paced, high-volume service, seeing 50,000 patients per year, including a 20% paediatric case load.

The team consists of 16 SMOs (15 FACEMs) and 7 ED registrars, creating a robust, collaborative environment for trainees.About youAs a Senior House Officer in the Emergency Department, you will have a strong desire to learn and be involved in a variety of emergency medical cases.

The role is ideal for those looking to develop a broad base of experience in Emergency Medicine.
You should be a team player with good communication skills, capable of working effectively under pressure.

The role requires the following qualifications and attributes:MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).Previous experience in an acute hospital setting is desirable, but not essential.An interest in Emergency Medicine and willingness to pursue further training in the field.All Applications Should IncludeUp-to-date CV and completed Te Whatu Ora online application.Three x referee reports (one of whom must be your most recent supervisor).
