S & P Hawkes Bay Limited is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team. Located in the heart of downtown Napier, our restaurant has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality food and exceptional dining experiences. This is a full-time, permanent role, offering a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 40 hours per week.The hourly pay rate is between $28 and $30, depending on skills and work experience.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of relevant work experience, strong organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. A positive attitude and a commitment to maintaining high standards are essential.
Requirements:- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality
- Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes
- Preparing sauces and selecting appropriate ingredients
- Storing food correctly and maintaining adequate supply levels
- Monitoring and replenishing stock as required
- Ensuring proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices in the kitchen
- Inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with standards
- Examining food items to ensure freshness and quality
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment
- Portioning food and plating dishes to restaurant standards
