Manufacturing Jeweller

We require a jeweller to help with design and manufacture of custom jewellery pieces for our clients, as well as stock production and general repairs. The position is 40 hours per week plus regular overtime, including every third Saturday. Some retail experience is an advantage, but not required.

• Excellent drawing skills as designs are completed by hand rather than CAD
• A flair/passion for design
• Attention to detail
• A comprehensive knowledge of the parts/structure of common jewellery designs and the ability to assess the need for repair
• Experience in all aspects of jewellery repair
• Sound basic mathematical skills for quantifying, measuring and pricing
• The ability to hand-work a range of metals, including sterling silver, gold and platinum
• Gemstone setting, in a range of styles including channel, pave, micro-claw, rub-set and traditional claw.
• Assembly of parts including soldering, welding
• Finishing work, including emerying, buffing and polishing
• Excellent self-management skills, including time management and the ability to work to deadlines reliably
• A positive and friendly demeanour
• The ability to work well in a small team
• Supportive and accomplished workshop team including a Master Jeweller and the 2025 Apprentice of the Year

Applicants should have a New Zealand Trade Certificate (or equivalent). Preference will be given to applicants with significant industry experience, although applicants with less experience but an obvious aptitude will be considered.
