We have a fantastic opportunity for a Venue Manager & Beer Education Lead to manage our Kingsland venue.

About the role/

Our Kingsland venue is more than a taproom - it’s where the Garage Project comes to life in Auckland. We need a conductor for the chaos - someone who can lead the team, nail the operational details, and ensure every customer leaves with a story to tell.

Alongside leading the venue this role leads our beer education programme for our venues crew and works as our Wild Workshop Ambassador.

What you’ll do
  • Run the daily operations of the venue (and behind the scenes)
  • lead by example in service while ensuring all operational needs are met.
From compliance and budgets to stock and maintenance
  • you’ll have lots of variety in this role.
  • Lead our crew - lead a fun, inclusive team. You’ll provide the day-to-day leadership, care, coaching, and training that turns a great team into a world class one.
  • Host the party - take charge of events at the venue, working closely with our internal teams to bring GP events to Kingsland.
  • Design and deliver a GP beer education programme to upskill and train our venue’s crew.
  • Run Wild Workshop sessions for our customers and trade partners.
  • Work with our wider venues leadership team on projects, product selection and much more!

Are you the one?

To be successful in this role you’ll bring the following skills and experience:

  • You’ll be a seasoned hospitality pro - with a minimum of five years experience managing a venue including people leadership and operational oversight (compliance, H&S, liquor licensing requirements)
  • At least three years working in the craft beer industry with extensive knowledge of different brewing processes from modern to traditional (e.g., wild yeast and barrel-aged beers) including wine experience and knowledge.
  • You’ve got the paperwork - a qualification in hospitality management, current Duty Managers and Cicerone certification.
  • Proven experience leading venue events, tours, and private functions, ensuring high-quality customer experiences
  • Proven experience developing and delivering training programmes for hospitality teams

This is a permanent role based in Kingsland, Auckland, working full-time (40 hours per week). Weekend and evening work is required as part of venue operations. The salary range for this role is $70,000 – $78,000.
