Child Safety Programme Facilitator - Kaikohe

About Us: Mid North Women's Aid & Refuge is committed to providing immediate safety, support, and empowerment to women and children experiencing family violence. We work tirelessly to break the cycle of violence and foster a safer, more equitable community.
The Role: We are looking for a highly skilled and empathetic facilitator to lead our essential Children's Safety Programme, designed to support tamariki impacted by family violence. This is a part-time position and may involve delivering other Ministry of Justice-contracted programmes eg: Adult Safety Programme and Strengthening Safety Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the Ministry of Justice Children's Safety Programme with sensitivity and expertise to tamariki.
- Assist with the Adult Safety Programme and Strengthening Safety Services as directed by the manager.
- Provide trauma-informed support and advocacy to children and their families.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting as per Ministry of Justice guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with the MNWAR team to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Uphold the values of MNWAR.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in facilitating programmes, particularly with children and young people.
- Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of family violence and its impact on tamariki.
- Strong knowledge of safety planning and trauma-informed practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dedicated team.
- Cultural competency and an understanding of Te Ao Maori, with a commitment to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Relevant qualifications in counselling, social work, education, or a related field are highly desirable.
