Wellington East Girls' College is seeking a dedicated Manaaki Tangata Team Member with a Careers Education Focus to join our school.

Position Details- Type: Permanent, part-time position during school terms (school holidays are generally not worked)
- Hours: 30 hours per week
- Hours negotiated but typically between : Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Conditions as per Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement – Grade 4 (Admin), range dependent on experience and qualifications
- Start Date: 6 October 2025 (or by agreement) (Subject to completion of satisfactory safety check)
This pivotal role supports both the Manaaki Tangata (well-being) and Careers departments, enhancing the overall experience for our school community.

- Effective Communication: Ensure clear and engaging communication with all school stakeholders, including staff, students, and parents/community.
- Manaaki Tangata Team Support: Provide timely and accurate assistance to students, staff, and visitors, managing inquiries, triaging students at the Hauora or Main Reception desk, and connecting individuals with appropriate resources.
- Careers Department Support: Assist in the delivery of Careers Education, maintain careers resources, and support the organisation of career events, guest speakers, and external trips.
- Gateway and STAR Programme Administration: Play a key role in co-ordinating the Gateway and STAR programmes, including maintaining databases, liaising with employers, arranging work-based learning, and tracking student attendance and achievements.
- Administrative Support: Manage various administrative tasks, including travel bookings, logistics of goods, point of sales, key records, and facilitating student meetings.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent presentation.
- A valid Driver's License.
- A First Aid Certificate (or willingness to complete one).
- Proficiency in Google Suite applications (or ability to quickly learn).
- Familiarity with KAMAR, basic Xero, basic Vend, Gmail, and internet search capability.
- Experience with Career Central Database (or similar systems).
