Te Ara Matihiko, Digital Services and Solutions sits within Te Pūnaha Matihiko, the Digital Services branch, which leads the Department's technology strategy and provide insights and advice to help maximise business outcomes from technology investment.
The Way We Work is collective, productive, and future-focused.We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to provide effective delivery of high-quality solution architectures that are consistent with the Government and DIA's Enterprise Architecture and strategies, across multiple products, domains and platforms to deliver strategic business outcomes, govern solution's execution, with support from the peer architects and wider project teams.
You will be responsible for:Translating business strategy, business plans and technology roadmaps into cohesive enterprise, branch and portfolio strategies, roadmaps, and architectures. Provide enterprise modelling, solution architecture assurance, reviewing technical architectures, managing architecture standards and promoting technology strategies into ICT portfolio planning.
Ensuring alignment to business needs, industry good practice, alignment to Te Tari Taiwhenua ICT strategic plans and agreed principles, and optimal use of organisational technology assets and resources.Establish, build and maintain strong relationships across the Department and with external stakeholders to achieve trusted advisor status.

Oversee Enterprise Architecture development, implementation and ongoing refinement activities.Share good practice, lessons learned and constantly update skills based on changing technologies, practice, and knowledge.We need someone who has:Demonstrated extensive experience in the successful architecture delivery across several large programmes of work independently and/or demonstrated leadership skills to mentor and lead other architects.Demonstrated experience in developing enterprise architecture strategies, principles and roadmaps.A thorough understanding of Architecture development frameworks, architecture modelling, principles and good practices, including All-of-Government standards, and producing high quality architecture artefacts.Understanding of management policies relating to the Te Tiriti o Waitangi Principles and the Crown's obligations to Māori.A Big picture thinker, particularly the ability to think architecturally about strategy and business environment in DIA and envision the relevant business implications and scenarios.Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
