Reporting to the General Manager Human Resources, you will operate as a trusted advisor to ELT, shaping governance, strengthening system maturity, and ensuring critical risks are clearly owned and actively managed.You will lead a modern, risk-based WHS framework that moves beyond compliance, embedding accountability, lifting leadership capability, and positioning wellbeing and safety as core to organisational performance.This role requires strategic foresight, political acuity and the ability to drive sustainable culture change across a complex, multi-site environment.What you bring | Nōu te rourouSenior level experience leading enterprise health, safety and wellbeing strategy in a complex environmentProven ability to influence senior leaders and drive organisational accountability for critical riskDeep expertise in WHS legislation, governance and system design, with a strong focus on maturity upliftDemonstrated success leading high-performing teams and building enterprise capabilityExceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the credibility to operate at Board/ELT levelA relevant tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety is requiredFor you | MōuAt the Department of Internal Affairs, we are committed to offering a collaborative and innovative culture where your perspective and ideas will be welcomed.
