Role Description

We are seeking a talented LED Lighting Designer for a full-time, on-site position in Auckland. The role involves designing innovative LED lighting solutions for a variety of applications, collaborating with architects and interior designers, and managing lighting projects from concept to installation.

Responsibilities include creating lighting plans, selecting systems and fixtures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position also requires staying current with lighting trends and technologies to provide cutting-edge designs.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Lighting Design and Lighting (including expertise in LED technologies)
  • Lighting calculations for Commercial, Retail & Residential applications
  • Working on project designs using AGI32, AutoCAD and DIALUX programmes.
  • Produce lighting models in both 3D & 2D & report writing giving structure to design ideas.
  • Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, and other departments as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with lighting industry standards and relevant software tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in project management and delivering projects within deadlines is beneficial
About You
  • Ability to learn, listen & have an eye for detail.
  • Experience in lighting design essential with experience in AGI32, and DIALUX or similar.
  • An understanding of NZ standards for lighting, including separate Regional Councils lighting requirements.
  • Preferably a TechIES but not essential.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other design tools would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
