About the Role
Are you looking for flexible working hours? The opportunity to work with a wide range of Allied Health professionals? Do you have the desire to work alongside patients throughout their health journey? We are looking for qualified casual physiotherapists to join our physiotherapy team at Health New Zealand Waitemata.
We have physiotherapy teams based at North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals, as well as at our community bases in Takapuna, Waitakere Hospital and Red Beach. Casual work may be offered by any of these teams, depending on where the need is.
This role primarily offers the opportunity to provide clinical service to patients who have been discharged home, and need some further rehabilitation in the community, or who may be temporarily residing in an aged residential care facility, and need rehabilitation to get home.Work may also be available in acute medical, orthopaedics, assessment treatment and rehabilitation wards at both hospital sites.
Within this role you will receive:
Support and development of your personal and professional goalsSupport and mentoring from advanced clinicians, senior clinicians and clinical coaches as needed
Regular professional supervision from experienced clinicians as needed/required
Credentialing for weekend work
About the Team/Service/ Location
You will be working as part of an established inter-disciplinary team covering an array of conditions while providing quality assessment and intervention, advice and discharge planning, through a patient-centred approach. Health New Zealand Waitemata is leading the way in the Northern region in digital innovation with electronic patient notes, e-prescribing and e-vitals as well as devices to support mobile working. The physiotherapy teams across all areas are well connected and work closely to ensure service provision is maintained.
About you
This casual position is well suited to those already working part-time who want non-permanent additional hours and the flexibility that a casual contract offers; or, to those wishing to keep their clinical experience current but who may not wish to be committed to permanent contracted hours e.g. those who are studying part-time or who need flexible/school hours secondary to childcare commitments.
Key requirements for this role:
New Zealand Professional Registration and valid current APC2+years of recent community, outpatient or inpatient experience
Strong clinical assessment skills, great communication and fast thinking.
Flexibility to work in different teams (community / rehabilitation / outpatients / inpatients) and across different sites
Ability to support and mentor/supervise junior staff
Experience with student supervision
