Salmon Farm Technicians

At Akaroa Salmon we operate two sea-pen salmon production farms in Lucas and Titoki Bays, which are located within the confines of Akaroa Harbour.

We have been operating for over 40 years and are a well-established and respected salmon producer. We operate a processing facility in Christchurch and from there our fresh chilled salmon are distributed through-out NZ and around the world.

Due to continued growth we are on the look out for great talent to join our passionate farm team! This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves the outdoors, is passionate about fish farming, and looking to grow their salmon farming career in our beautiful farming location.

This is a full-time or part-time permanent position and applicants must be either NZ residents or hold a current working visa. Work hours 7am to 4.30pm daily full time. Salmon farming activities include:

• Feeding
• Harvesting
• Grading
• ROV net cleaning
• Net mending
• Technical duties such as operating an ROV for underwater inspections, grading, broodstock handling etc
• Skipper/Deck hand duties

This job has tremendous opportunity for advancement with the company in an exciting growth phase.

Remuneration is commensurate with experience and preference will be given to candidates who have experience in aquaculture, Microsoft Word and Excel, Skippers tickets, diving experience, forklift/crane operating experience. Please contact us for further details.
