Registered Nurse - Tane Whakapiripiri Inpatient Unit, Auckland Regional Forensic Psychiatry Service - Te Whatu Ora WaitemataPermanent, Full-Time position (1 FTE)Rostered ShiftBased in Point ChevalierWho we areThe Auckland Regional Forensic Psychiatry Service, or the Mason Clinic as it is often known, is the largest Forensic Mental Health Service in New Zealand.
We serve the four Northern District Health Boards including all courts in the northern region and five prisons. We deliver a comprehensive range of Forensic Mental Health Services, including secure inpatient acute and rehabilitation services which connect to community rehabilitation services, services for offenders with an intellectual disability, culture specific programmes for Maori, court liaison and prison mental health services.
This includes a regional service to Northland Region Corrections Facility at Ngawha and Northland.Tane Whakapiripiri Unit is one of seven forensic mental health inpatient units that assesses, treats and assists in the rehabilitative recovery of people with mental illness or intellectual disability.

Tane Whakapiripiri Unit is a 12 bed mixed gender Forensic Inpatient Minimum Secure Kaupapa Maori Unit. Our Model of Care incorporates Te Tiriti o Waitangi Principles and built around Te Whare Tapa Wha (the four cornerstones of Maori health) incorporating Maori concepts and values that work alongside western approaches to psychiatric treatment.About the roleWe continue to develop the services for the future and are looking to recruit two Registered Mental Health Nurses into full FTE position.
