Position: Carpenter

Job duties:

  • Read drawings and sketches to determine materials, dimensions & installation procedures
  • Select correct timbers and materials
  • Prepare the layout of the project
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, assemble and install parts
  • Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue;
  • Install wallboards and floorboards and commercial ceiling
  • Nail fascia panels and door and window frames
  • Verify trueness of structure
  • Interior lining and finish
  • Inspect places and conduct repairs, maintenance, or renovations
  • Ensure workmanship and observe health and safety regulations
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment;
  • Any other duties the employer may reasonably require the employee to perform
Pay rate: Minimum $26.00/ hour Maximum $30.00/ hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 3 hours, permanent full-time

Requirements for the job:

  • 3 years of relevant work experience required
  • Be physically fit and healthy
  • Full time availability, may work on the weekends
  • No criminal record
  • Candidates need to be NZ citizen/resident
