Excavator Operator / Truck Driver Wanted

Pay Rate: $27 – $35 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Excavator Operator / Truck Driver to join our construction team in Auckland. This role involves operating heavy machinery and trucks to support a range of civil and construction projects, ensuring work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project specifications.

• Operate excavators and other earthmoving equipment for trenching, digging, grading, and site preparation
• Drive company trucks to transport materials, machinery, and equipment to and from construction sites
• Load and unload materials safely using machinery or manual handling where required
• Read and interpret site plans, drawings, and instructions to carry out excavation and earthworks accurately
• Conduct pre-start checks and routine maintenance of machinery and vehicles to ensure safe operation
• Identify and report mechanical faults or safety issues promptly
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
• Work collaboratively with site managers, engineers, and other construction staff
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment on-site
• Follow traffic management plans and site-specific safety requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience as an Excavator Operator and/or Truck Driver
• Proven ability to operate excavators and heavy machinery safely and efficiently
• Good understanding of construction site processes and safety practices
• Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety

• Experience in civil construction or infrastructure projects
• Additional machinery operation experience (e.g., loaders, rollers)
• Relevant industry certifications or training
